Come join us at the Coke Ovens Park on Saturday, July 10th from 5:00 – 7:00 pm, for a great time of fellowship with your Ewtonville sisters!
We will be spending time getting to know our sisters better by playing a few interactive games that will bring us all a lot of laughter! We will also learn how much we need each other and how to work with and serve one another.
Please sign up today to let us know what you will be bringing in your picnic basket.

Fourth of July?

I began thinking about the 4th of July. The first thing I thought of was traditions; parades, barbeques, fireworks, baseball games and watermelon. Then I thought how shallow!

Now I know it was when we declared our independence from England. But come on, there has to be more to it than that. I know that is the jest and is extremely important. But what about details?

The pilgrims came here to escape religious persecution. They wanted to have freedom in religion. The Revolutionary War was to gain this freedom. Did you know one of the motto’s of the Revolutionary War was: “NO king but King Jesus”? This came from what Thomas
Jefferson and Benjamin Franklin proposed as the national motto; “Rebellion to tyrants is obedience to God”, which is based on Acts chapters 4 & 5.

Through many lives being shed we gained our independence.  How sad that many Americans refuse to accept the independence that so many died for. NO king but King Jesus!

“Better to die free, than be a fat slave”  Aesop
To equip women to become mature Christians, actively serving Christ, in their home, church and community.”

“Restore us again, O Lord God of hosts, cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved.” Psalm 80:19

If you read Psalm 80, you will see this sane thing is said 3 times (vs. 3, 7, & 19). For God to make sure this was repeated to us over and over, it must be important!
